Description

This point is in the center of the Colorado River about a mile south of the Avi Casino and Resort on the Fort Mohave Indian Reservation. Fortunately, I visited this location on October 20, 2002 - the last day of the season for boat rentals at the resort's marina. I rented a Sea-Doo and headed south at 55mph to reach the tri-point according to my GPS receiver. Later I drove along the dirt roads beside the river looking for boundary monuments. The monument on the California/Nevada side was intact but the corresponding monument on the Arizona side appears to have been destroyed during road grading and construction. Interesting class B visit.

The vehicle of choice for this tri-point. Rentals available at the Avi Resort Marina during the summer and early fall. A motorized boat is definitely recommended if you plan on returning to the marina because the river current is fairly swift.

Boundary monument beside the river at the California-Nevada boundary. There used to be a similar monument on the Arizona side but it appears to have been destroyed since 1998. Tri-point is directly "above" the monument in this photo.
