Description
The westernmost point in Ontario is in a swampy area at the NW
tip of Angle Inlet in the Lake of the Woods. The boundary between Manitoba and Ontario follows the inlet and has a bulge where a point of
land extends west from Ontario. Massive beaver works in the area have changed the water flow significantly. During our visit on July 17,
2001 the W point in Ontario was located west of the main channel, if it can be called that. A few meters N of this point the inlet was no
longer navigable by canoe due to beaver dams and lodges.
